May 31, 2025: 2024 Tornado data and environments are now available on the data explorer!
Addtionally, we’ve made a few changes to the explorer:
- Added Philippines data from a newly found source
- Using WASM contouring from autumnplot-gl, (Environmental data enhancements, specifically CAPE is a bit more accurate)
- Using globe view for plotting (Looking for feedback, We plan to allow toggling between Global and Mercator projection with a toggle on next update)
- Fixed an issue with 60- and 120- kt barbs disappearing on some machines,
- Fixed an issue with European environment data.
What’s Next?
Coming soon we will release a full version update, 2.4. This will include some UI enhancements to the explorer. We will also update ESWD (Europe) and Japan. We’re aiming for mid-summer for these changes (but we aren’t making any hard promises!)
